  • 1.1.2. Disconnecting or reconnecting domestic appliances, plumbing fittings, light fixtures, or electrical fittings.

  • 1.1.3. Parking fees, suspension permits, Congestion Charge, ULEZ, or road/bridge tolls.

  • 1.1.4. Customs duties, port charges, or statutory inspection fees payable to government authorities.

1.2. Unless already agreed in writing, additional charges will apply if:

  • 1.2.1. The work is carried out on a Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday, or outside standard operational hours (07:00 – 18:00) at your request.

  • 1.2.2. The work does not commence within 3 months of quotation acceptance.

  • 1.2.3. Our crew is required to move goods above the ground floor or first upper floor without a functioning lift.

  • 1.2.4. You request additional services, extra items to be moved, or extended liability as defined in Clause 8.

  • 1.2.5. You request collection of or access to your goods while held in storage.

  • 1.2.6. Access restrictions prevent the normal movement of goods without mechanical hoists, specialist alterations, or window removals.

  • 1.2.7. Access restrictions prevent loading or unloading of goods within 20 metres of the property doorway.

  • 1.2.8. Delays, key waiting times, or external events outside our reasonable control increase the operational time or crew resources required.

1.3. Any additional work, such as moving goods into and out of storage on separate days, is billed at our standard hourly rates as independent jobs unless specifically included in a written fixed quotation.

2. Excluded Goods

2.1. The following items must not be submitted for removal or storage and will under no circumstances be handled or moved by us:

  • 2.1.1. Stolen goods, illegal drugs, prohibited substances, highly flammable or explosive materials (including petrol, gas canisters, aerosols, paints, oils, and live ammunition).

  • 2.1.2. Jewellery, precious metals, gemstones, cash, bonds, deeds, securities, share certificates, collectible stamps, or currency collections (unless agreed beforehand in writing).

  • 2.1.3. Goods hazardous to human health, toxic chemicals, bio-hazards, or asbestos.

  • 2.1.4. Perishable items and goods requiring temperature-controlled refrigeration.

  • 2.1.5. Live animals, reptiles, insects, birds, or delicate plants.

  • 2.1.6. Items prohibited by statutory law or requiring specialist commercial export/import licensing.

2.2. If any such goods are handed over without our written knowledge and approval, we reserve the right to make them available for immediate collection by you. If uncollected within a reasonable timeframe, we will seek an appropriate court order to dispose of the items at your sole expense.

2.3. Aidy Removals Ltd accepts no liability for loss or damage to excluded items detailed in Clause 2, unless proven to be caused solely by our direct negligence.

3. Customer Responsibilities

3.1. You agree that Aidy Removals Ltd is not liable for any loss, damage, or delay arising directly from your failure to fulfill your responsibilities.

3.2. You agree to declare in writing the realistic total value of the goods to be moved prior to commencing the job.

3.3. You are solely responsible for securing legal parking arrangements, paying parking fees, arranging bay suspensions, and settling any parking penalties (PCNs) or overweight fines incurred during the execution of your move.

3.4. You must properly prepare all appliances prior to removal: defrosting and draining refrigerators and freezers, disconnecting and draining washing machines, dishwashers, and hoses, and ensuring all petrol/fuel-driven tools and garden equipment are drained completely dry.

3.5. You or an authorized adult representative must remain present on site throughout the entirety of both loading and unloading procedures.

3.6. If stored goods exceed the initially agreed storage duration without a confirmed written extension, we accept no liability for goods deteriorating due to prolonged duration or ambient environmental factors.

3.7. You are responsible for inspecting the premises thoroughly to ensure nothing intended for removal is left behind and nothing is taken in error.

3.8. You are responsible for securing and supervising all unattended goods where third-party contractors, builders, cleaners, or other tenants are active.

3.9. You agree to provide an active contact telephone number, email, and destination address for the entire duration of the move.

3.10. Where a goods receipt or formal inventory list is provided, you must notify us of any discrepancies within 10 working days.

4. Our Responsibilities

4.1. For the purpose of these terms, “undamaged” means arriving in the same physical condition as before our work began.

4.2. We are responsible for delivering your goods to the agreed destination (or making them available for collection) undamaged.

4.3. If we fail to deliver goods undamaged due to our verified fault, our compensation is governed strictly by the liability provisions of Clause 8.

4.4. Aidy Removals Ltd is not liable to compensate you unless we have been proven negligent or in clear breach of contract.

4.5. It is our responsibility to provide trained personnel, clean vehicles, and moving equipment fit for carrying out the agreed removals work.

5. Ownership of Goods

5.1. You confirm that all goods submitted for removal or storage are your legal property, or that you hold explicit legal authority from the owner to enter into this contract.

5.2. If ownership changes or is disputed while this agreement is active, you agree to inform us in writing immediately.

6. Postponement & Cancellation Policy

6.1. We reserve the right to charge cancellation or postponement fees based on written notice received prior to the scheduled start time:

  • 6.1.1. More than 10 calendar days before the agreed start date: No charge.

  • 6.1.2. Less than 10 calendar days before the agreed start date: 100% of the deposit forfeited.

  • 6.1.3. Postponement or cancellation within 48 hours of the agreed start time: 100% of the deposit forfeited, plus applicable scheduling fees.

6.2. If Aidy Removals Ltd cancels your booking for reasons within our control, your deposit will be refunded in full.

7. Payment Terms & Overdue Balances

7.1. Fixed-Price Jobs: Full payment in cleared funds is strictly required prior to the commencement of unloading at the destination.

7.2. Hourly-Rated Jobs: Full payment must be settled approximately 30 minutes prior to the estimated completion of unloading. Our team reserves the right to halt unloading and retain the remaining goods inside the vehicle until the full balance has been paid and cleared in full.

7.3. We reserve the full right to stop unloading or suspend transit until total cleared payment is received.

7.4. Where invoices remain overdue, we reserve the right to charge interest on a daily basis, calculated at 4% per day on the total outstanding balance until full payment clears.

7.5. We reserve the right to retain authorized card details until job completion and to charge the card on file should payment not be made as agreed.

7.6. Estimated figures or initial approximations provided prior to final booking are indicative only. The final charge is determined by actual hours worked, access difficulty, or additional services rendered, billed in accordance with our hourly schedule.

8. Liability and Insurance

8.1. Extended Liability

  • 8.1.1. If you declare the total replacement value of your goods in writing before the move commences, our liability in the event of loss or damage will be assessed up to that declared value.

  • 8.1.2. Declarations exceeding standard policy thresholds must be approved in writing and may attract an additional insurance surcharge.

  • 8.1.3. In the event of covered loss or damage, our liability shall not exceed the cost of professional repair or fair replacement (whichever is lower), subject to the declared maximum limit.

  • 8.1.4. Where an item is part of a matching pair, suite, or set, liability is assessed solely for the damaged individual item in isolation, without reference to the overall value of the set.

  • 8.1.5. Flat-Pack & Self-Assembly Furniture (IKEA etc.): We provide dismantling and assembly services for flat-pack, IKEA, and custom particleboard furniture. Because manufacturers offer no warranty once assembled furniture is dismantled, Aidy Removals Ltd accepts no liability and offers no financial compensation if such items weaken, warp, or fail to fit together identically upon reassembly, unless there is direct, visible physical impact damage caused by our crew during transit.

8.2. Limited Liability

  • 8.2.1. If you have not declared the total value of your goods in writing prior to commencing work, our liability for loss or damage is strictly capped at a maximum of £40.00 per item.

  • 8.2.2. For liability purposes, an “item” is defined as the complete contents of any box, container, crate, package, or standalone individual piece of furniture moved by us.

9. Damage to Premises

9.1. If damage to property/premises (other than removal goods) is caused directly by our verified negligence, our liability is strictly limited to the reasonable cost of repairing the damaged localized area only.

9.2. If structural, doorway, or wall scuffs occur as a direct result of moving large or awkward goods under your express instruction against the advice of our crew, we accept no liability.

9.3. Any alleged property or structural damage must be pointed out to the driver immediately on site and notified in writing within 24 hours.

10. General Exclusions of Liability

10.1. We are not liable for delays, losses, or failure to perform services resulting from severe weather, road closures, strikes, industrial disputes, war, civil commotion, or events outside our reasonable control.

10.2. We are not liable for losses caused by natural wear, leakage, internal mechanical breakdown of electronic appliances, vermin, or food spoilage.

10.3. Customer-Packed Fragiles: We accept no liability for breakage, cracks, or damage to china, porcelain, glassware, mirrors, or fragile ornaments unless such items have been both professionally packed and unpacked by Aidy Removals Ltd staff.

10.4. We accept no liability for damage resulting from third-party cleaning, polishing, or attempted chemical repairs.

10.5. Unless directly caused by water entering the vehicle due to our proven negligence, we are not liable for dampness, condensation, rust, or atmospheric changes.

10.6. No individual employee, driver, or contractor of Aidy Removals Ltd shall be held personally liable for claims under this contract.

10.7. Our contractual liability terminates completely upon physical delivery, customer handover, and receipt of payment.

11. Time Limit for Claims

11.1. Any missing items, visible damage, or claims must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported to the Aidy Removals Ltd office on the day of the move. A formal, itemized claim including photographic evidence must be submitted in writing within 7 days of job completion. Claims submitted after 7 days will not be accepted. We accept no responsibility for alleged damages once our team has left the site and payment has been concluded.

12. Transit Routes, Sub-Contracting & Storage

12.1. We are not liable for traffic delays in transit unless proven to stem from our direct breach of contract.

12.2. If through no fault of ours we cannot safely access or complete delivery at the agreed destination, goods will be transferred to secure storage at the customer’s sole expense.

12.3. Aidy Removals Ltd reserves full discretion to determine the operational travel route.

12.4. We reserve the right to sub-contract elements of our services to vetted partner contractors; these Terms and Conditions will apply in full.
